Mike
and Marian Ilitch are both first-generation Americans of Macedonian
descent.
Through the franchising of the Little Caesars Pizza concept,
they have provided thousands of people with the opportunity
to become independent business owners.
Over their nearly 45 years in business, they have provided employment
through the Little Caesars chain to hundreds of thousands, if
not millions of people.
Little Caesars restaurants are located in cities and towns across
the country providing stable businesses and jobs in the community.
It is Mike and Marian's philosophy to give back to the community
that supports them. The chain's franchise owners share this
philosophy.
The couple has seven children whom they have raised with the
values they both share - humility and community generosity.
The Ilitch family has received many awards applauding its contributions
to the community and to the restaurant industry.
Mike and Marian Ilitch and their family have donated millions
of dollars to charitable organizations, provided amateur sports
sponsorships for hundreds of thousands of children, and devoted
thousands of hours of their time to charitable and community
organizations.
They became pioneers in the redevelopment of downtown Detroit
in 1987 when they purchased the Fox Theatre building, renovated
the theatre and offices, and relocated their Little Caesars
world headquarters to downtown Detroit.
